The Carolina Pottery was established in 1996 as our home and studio. Our craftsman style home was built in 1894. In 1998 we built a two-chambered woodfired kiln for glaze firing. The historic Village of Carolina is a typical early 19th century New England mill village. Bisected by the Pawcatuck River the village contains a number of distinctive architectural styles dating from the 1700s. The scenic Pawcatuck River offers a quite retreat for both canoeing and fishing.
Across the road from us in the landmark Octagon House is an active handweaving studio run by the Carolina Fiber and Fiction Center. During the third weekend of October our studios are open for the annual HopArts Studio Tour.
